Community/Area Plans
The City Council has adopted several community and area plans for different parts of the City. These plans are incorporated into the General Plan and provide goals, policies, and actions for specific areas of the City in addition to the Citywide goals and policies in the rest of the General Plan
Media District Specific Plan
The Media District Specific Plan (MDSP) was adopted in 1991 as a
growth-control plan for the commercial and industrial areas in the
southwestern corner of Burbank, which is the home to several major media
companies.

Magnolia Park
The Magnolia Park zoning was adopted in 1998 in an effort to revitalize the area by
promoting a pedestrian oriented atmosphere. All commercial
properties along Magnolia Boulevard between Buena Vista Street and the western City Limit, and along
Hollywood Way between Clark Avenue and Chandler Boulevard, were rezoned
to special Magnolia Park zoning classifications.
Along with the special zoning, the following policy statement was added to the General Plan:
Magnolia Park is a low-density residential community which is served by businesses located primarily along Magnolia Boulevard and Hollywood Way and along some of the other arterials which traverse the area. The vitality of the commercial area greatly depends upon the patronage of the surrounding residents, who both walk and drive to businesses. This patronage should be further encouraged by the creation of a series of distinct clusters of pedestrian oriented retail areas and office/professional services nodes, supported by sufficient, conveniently located parking facilities, with the goal of establishing a multiple-destination shopping district.
