What is the Housing Element update?
The City of Burbank is updating the Housing Element of the General Plan.  The General Plan is the blueprint for all future development in the City and is based on the goals, needs, and priorities of Burbank’s residents.  The Housing Element addresses housing needs in Burbank to ensure that the community can accommodate its share of regional housing demands and provide housing opportunities for all income and demographic groups.

State law provides certain deadlines for updating the Housing Element.  The updated Housing Element must be adopted by or before June 30, 2008.  The Housing Element must also be reviewed and approved by the state Department of Housing and Community Development.

Please check this page for updates and further information.  For more information about the Housing Element update, please contact Barbara Lazar at (818) 238-5250 or blazar@ci.burbank.ca.us.
