Rancho Zoning

The Planning and Transportation Division has received a number of inquiries regarding the ordinance that established the Rancho zoning designations, and subsequent ordinances that modified the uses permitted in the Rancho zones, specifically with regard to the classification of grocery markets.  Copies of the ordinances, minutes from the Planning Board and City Council meetings at which they were considered, and other documents related to the Rancho zones are available for download below.

Report to Planning Board
At the request of the Planning Board, staff has prepared a report that summarizes the adoption of the original Rancho zoning standards and subsequent ordinances related to permitted uses in the Rancho zones.  The exhibits to the staff report are included in the documents below.  This report will be presented to the Planning Board on January 22, 2007.
