Mission Statement

The mission of the Housing and Redevelopment Division is to ensure there is a diverse mix of service-enriched housing; and to foster a climate that generates jobs, economic and social vitality to support a high quality of life for the entire community.

Agency Objectives

The Redevelopment Agency implements two primary goals of: 1) to remove blight; and 2) to increase the inventory of affordable housing. Additional goals adopted for each project area include rehabilitating and revitalizing blighted and deteriorated areas via various methods of Redevelopment Agency participation, such as land assemblage, infrastructure upgrades and certain on-site improvements. In summary, the removal of blight, the creation and retention of jobs, and the improvement and preservation of affordable housing are the three primary areas of focus for the Agency.
