All workshops will be held in the Community Services Building located at 150 N. Third St. (free parking is available off Olive Ave.)

| Intellectual Property Rights/Risk Management | This session on Intellectual Property (IP) and Risk Management will provide the business owner and/or entrepreneur and overview of two timely content areas. The intellectual property session will introduce laws covering basic patents, copyright, designs and trademarks and how these laws protect property rights in the creative and inventive arts. It will also show how these regulations give the creators certain exclusive rights to deal with their creative works or inventions. The session on risk management will cover areas of commercial risk and refer to numerous types of threats caused by environment, technology, humans, and organizations. Loss mitigation will also be discussed which involves insurance and other contingency planning protections. |
