South San Fernando Redevelopment Project Area

With several planned projects "in the works", the South San Fernando Redevelopment Project Area will continue its upward growth trend. Particular attention will be focused on the redevelopment of the various "Opportunity Sites" within the project area and working with existing property and business owners on property improvement.

• Incurrence of dept - 2017
• Debt repayment & receipt of tax increment - 2043
• 467 acres
• Land composition - Primarily commercial and industrial property with very little residential
• Effectiveness of the plan - 2028

South San Fernando Recent Achievements:

• Senior Artists Colony - This project is a 141 unit senior rental housing project for persons 55 years of age and older. Unique to this project is the programming available to seniors. 30 percent or 43 units are income and rent restricted.
• Home Depot - Development of a 115,130 sq. ft. Home Depot store with a 24,677 sq. ft. outdoor garden center.
• Independent Living Facility - Development of an 18-unit independent living rental project for low income disabled adults.
• San Fernando Walk - Development of 33 residential, for-sale units including 10 affordable units.
