The Planning and Transportation Division is committed to providing the people who live, work, or recreate in
the City of Burbank a transportation system that is safe, efficient, dynamic, and accessible while remaining aesthetically and
environmentally compatible with the community. The Transportation Section is responsible for the long term planning that ensures
that important transportation services and facilities will always be available to the people of Burbank, and identifies funding
sources that provide hiqh quality transportation services in the most cost-effective manner possible.
In meeting these transportation goals it is critical that the transportation system strike a balance between all modes of transportation, whether
it be automobile, transit, bicycle, or pedestrian. This multi-modal system ensures that transportation is always accessible regardless of
economic status, always available due to efficient use of infrastructure, and environmentally
friendly through pursuit of cleaner, more efficient
methods of travel.
