Transportation Commission

The Burbank Transportation Commission holds regular meetings on the third Monday of each month at 5 p.m. in the City Hall Annex Room 102. The Commission discusses all issues relevant to transportation in the City.  Members of the public are welcome to attend Commission meetings.  The current Transportation Commission members are:

Duties and Responsibilities of the Transportation Commission

The Transportation Commission’s Powers and Duties as defined in the Burbank Municipal Code are as follows:

  1. To make recommendations to the City Council on transportation planning issues including but not limited to the Transportation Element of the General Plan and its components.

  2. To make recommendations on the expenditure of Proposition A funds, Proposition C funds, Air Quality funds and bonds, fees, loans and grants for the purpose of funding transportation improvements.

  3. To make recommendations on transportation plans, policies and programs, including, but not limited to pedestrian orientation, telecommuting, intermodal transportation centers and new (transportation) technologies.

  4. To perform such advisory functions as are delegated to it by the provisions of this Code or other action of the Council.
In general, staff will bring items to the Commission for their review and recommendation if it meets one of the above criteria or if there is an item that will significantly affect adopted transportation policies or significantly impact the existing transportation infrastructure. The Commission is comprised of seven Burbank residents who are appointed by the Council.
